Woodchip Recycling

Soil SquadWe distribute woodchip across allotments and schools throughout St Albans, Harpenden and surrounding areas.

Any remaining woodchip is donated to Soil Squad, a local community interest company dedicated to transforming organic waste into nutrient-rich compost in St Albans. Soil Squad runs a composting hub at Sandridge Road Allotments and works with schools and residents to close the loop on food waste. Their mission focuses on regenerative soil health, biodiversity and community education through compost workshops and local collection services.

Logs for the Local Community

Logs are offered to neighbours and community groups within the St Albans area.

Biomass & Other Waste

Any remaining branches, non-reusable wood or green waste is processed responsibly. This material is sent for recycling into biomass for power generation and compost materials.
